Low Fogging and Low VOC Electronics Adhesive Solutions

Hard disk drives, sensors and other components in laptops and mobile phones are extremely sensitive and can be disrupted by the presence of VOCs. As a result, adhesives in these application areas are often required to have low VOC off-gassing characteristics. 

To meet these requirements while still providing excellent adhesion performance, Avery Dennison Performance Polymers produces solvent acrylic, emulsion acrylic and UV-cured adhesives with low VOC properties along with a wide range of other characteristics. These adhesives are produced with reactants that don’t include high boiling point alcohols, which limits the amount of VOCs off-gassed over the life of the adhesive.

Along with the adhesive selection, the coating and manufacturing process plays an integral role in the VOC levels of a pressure-sensitive adhesive.
